01 About Pagoda Red Antiques and Modern

Pagoda Red Antiques and Modern

Interior Designer Nancy Furey decorates in an eclectic style that fuses antique and vintage art and decorative accessories with a modern influence.

Her love of travel and nature inspire her design aesthetic.

During Nancy's 30 years as a designer, she has collaborated with clients in New Jersey and Massachusetts to create exceptional living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens and bedrooms.  She also sells distinctive home decor on Chairish.com under the Pagoda Red Antiques and Modern label.

The name Pagoda Red is a nod to one of the first antiques Nancy ever acquired - an iron pagoda painted Chinese red!

Nancy Furey's love of beautiful things began at an early age, as she accompanied her mother to countless antique shops and auction houses throughout New Jersey.  She grew to love the world of design by decorating her childhood bedroom, furnishing her single-girl apartment, and creating livable, appealing spaces within her own home.

Nancy has designed rooms for friends and clients who trust her sophisticated eye.  Her advice is always the same: Buy only what you love and the best you can afford.  "An antique chest and decorative accessories for example, provide the soul of a room," Nancy says. "I adore infusing interiors with modern and antique pieces collected over time.  Things that speak to you or that you've found in your travels. They give your home its personality that can't be replicated."

Her Morristown kitchen was featured in Better Homes & Gardens.  She also designed a dining vignette for Princeton Arts Council's fundraising auction, and created safari-themed and "Born in the USA" galas for The Peck School's annual fundraiser.

Nancy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The American University and a Master of Arts degree from Teacher's College, Columbia University.

She presently resides with her husband and beloved puppy, Pip, in Far Hills, New Jersey and Barnstable, Massachusetts.  Nancy's French Normandy-style home in Far Hills was built in 1926 by famed architects Delano & Aldrich and was featured in the popular book Homes of Somerset Hills.  Her summer home on Cape Cod is a 1906 converted horse barn, built entirely of stone and loaded with modern art.  The decor is informal and eclectic, allowing the massive stone architecture to shine as the star of the show.
